Skit Maker Sanku Comedy Dies in Oyo Auto Crash

Nigerian skit maker and comedian, Raji Adetola, popularly known as Sanku Comedy, has sadly lost his life after being involved in a car accident along Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State.

The fatal crash happened in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025, leaving several others injured.

Footage shared online captured the wrecked vehicle lodged in a muddy ditch, with Sanku and another passenger lying motionless beside it.

Both victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment, but Sanku was later pronounced dead. Reports indicate that his companion remains in a critical condition, though details are still sketchy.

Actress Funmi Awelewa confirmed she had been informed that Sanku initially responded to treatment, but unfortunately, he did not survive. On Instagram, she expressed her grief, writing:

> “When I saw the news online, I quickly sent one of my students who stays near Bowen hospital. He told me he met one of your friends there who said you were responding to treatment. I prayed… we prayed! But God knows best. Haa, Olorun Oba oo.”

Fellow skit makers including Ozain Comedy and Jidex also mourned his passing with emotional tributes shared on TikTok and Instagram.

Sanku began his comedy journey in 2021 but gained widespread recognition by 2024, building a loyal fan base and attracting over one million TikTok followers.

His sudden death has left fans and colleagues in deep shock.
